Hope Smith

Having six years of experience as an elementary school counselor, Hope has developed a deep understanding of the unique emotional and developmental needs of children. She became a counselor because she cares deeply about creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported. She believes every individual deserves the opportunity to express themselves freely—without fear or judgment. Building a trusting, authentic relationship is at the heart of her work. Hope takes the time to truly listen and connect with her clients. Her counseling approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and person-centered practices. Hope’s goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment where children, adolescents, and young adults feel empowered to explore their thoughts and feelings, grow in confidence, and develop healthy coping strategies for life’s challenges. Hope received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, as well as her Master’s in Guidance and Counseling at Angelo State University. Hope is a Master’s level clinician currently pursuing licensure as an Associate Professional Counselor. She is under the supervision of Laura Hafner, LPC, RPT, CPCS.
